The William Cecil Hotel, Stamford
This hotel sits on the edge of the Burghley Estate in Lincolnshire. The brief for this project was 'Burghley above stairs' and inspiration was taken from the estate rooms and bedrooms of Burghley House. Each room is named after a different person who had links with the Burghley Estate. There are 27 bedrooms all of which are decorated with period prints and luxurious fabrics which hopefully give a taste of the oppulence of Burghley House itself. This is the fourth hotel that Christine has designed for the Hillbrooke Hotel group. |

The Bull & Swan, Stamford
This is the third of the Hillbrooke Hotels that Christine has designed. A beautiful old coaching inn at Stamford, Lincolnshire with 7 bedrooms. This is a Listed Building so the interior was designed to be sympathetic to its age and structure. The brief was to recognise the historic drinking club which was based there "The Honorable Order of Little Bedlum" All the members had animal personas so the 7 rooms are named after them and there are portraits of the members in the restaurant. |

The Master Builders Hotel, Beaulieu
This is the second project for Christine from the Hillbrooke Hotel group. Set on the beautiful Beaulieu Estate on the south coast near Southampton it is the site where Nelson's flagships were built. The wet dock can still be seen. The theme was therefore 'Nelson's state rooms'. Christine was given the complete hotel to redesign, all of the bedrooms , restaurant, bar and other reception rooms. Each bedroom is given a different name and all are themed differently. Inspiration was taken from the naval museum adjacent to the site and sketches were made of the tables and benches which were then used as the basis for the bespoke dining tables and seating benches. New bed designs were also produced and naval inspired fabrics were used throughout to achieve a relaxed but comfortable atmosphere to suit the waterside setting. |

The Elephant Hotel Pangbourne
This hotel is the first of the Hillbrooke Hotels that Christine was asked to work on. The brief was 'Indian Raj meets Raffles hotel' with every bedroom having a different themed interior and then a 1930's inspired Residents Lounge. Working very closely with Hillbrooke's management the names for the bedrooms were agreed, the rooms measured, plans drawn and schemes designed. Following approval of the designs, the timescale is agreed then the ordering of all the various items begins with the complexities of ensuring that all finishes are compliant with fire regulations etc. The final couple of weeks of a project are always very hectic for the fitting out on site before the fabulous opening party that Hillbrooke like to throw to welcome local businesses and residents. |
